August. 'Garden Gown.'This cotton gown is a combination of the two popular crafts - knitting and crocheting. Both are fun and relaxing and let you create something new in the process and knit your own design. I started with the sleeves because I loved the lace pattern in one of the knitting magazines (Sabrina 2008) - the knit looked and felt light and breezy. Then I crocheted the top - single crochet stitch. As usual, I didn't make any measurements - the beauty of crocheting is that you can always add a couple of rows and make it fit. Last part was the skirt which I knitted from the waist down - my favourite cable stitch. I began knitting in June and did quite a lot of it at the Moon River campsite in Northern Ontario. The project was completed in July and made it to the photo session in our roof garden in August :-)
Happy end of summer knitting!
