Tanya Preobrazhenski
Source of InspirationBorn and raised and spent most of her life in Russia, Tanya Preobrazhenski is Toronto resident since 2004.
For years I've been reading other knitters' blogs admiring their creativity in both knit- and web-designs. Very often they have been a source of inspiration for my work. The year 2010 started for me with a ski accident, a break and a surgery.
For a few months my full-time job turned into a full-time taking care of my knee. I unexpectedly got plenty of time on my hands. The result of it is this site where I would like to share my crafts with other knitting enthusiasts. |
Knitting on and offI am a knitter and crocheter, and I’ve been in crafts for ages. I started knitting at school and made gorgeous outfits for my dolls and for my younger sister. I have made some wonderful sweaters for my husband, which he proudly wore for years. As a mother, I have knitted for my daughters throughout their childhood - by the time of their adolescence I started my own business and had to put knitting on hold for more than ten years - I can’t believe it myself!. I took on knitting again when I moved to Canada.
It's just me behind this site, but when I need a hand, my daughters are always there for me, helping with some technical details and modelling my knits. My husband, too, supports me in all my endeavours. |
Game of Words'Artisaknity' is a game of words.
I like words both in my native Russian and in English. 'Artisan' has become one of my favourites. There's art and handicraft, creativity and spirit in it. I blended it with knit and got the name for this site - 'Artisaknity.' In other words, the state and quality of being an artisan in knitting. I hope I meet the definition. Thanks for visiting.
